That Book Woman received its world premiere at Pioneer Playhouse (Danville, Kentucky) in 2024 as part of the historic theatre's 75th Anniversary Season. The play was written by award-winning playwright Holly Hepp-Galvan based on a best-selling picture book of the same name by award-winning children's author Heather Henson.

While the book was written and published for young readers, the full-length play is for all ages. Hepp-Galvan expanded on the world of the book to create a story that celebrates a fascinating yet little known piece of American women's history: the Pack Horse Librarians. The play features strong female characters and a compelling story set in 1930's Appalachia that deeply resonates with modern audiences.
